Week of Welcome Competition 鈥� Win $5,000 for Your Program

We think it鈥檚 always a great time to attend fun and free activities outside the classroom.

But if you need another reason to attend Week of Welcome activities, we have one for you.

The program that has the highest attendance percentage during Week of Welcome Activities will win a $5,000 award from Student Government Association.

When a student attends any event on campus, they check-in and earn tokens. We keep a running scoreboard all year long and students use them to bid on and purchase prizes at the end of the year BBQ.

Last year, we had a student who used their听tokens to buy a PS5, Oculus VR Goggles, and more. It pays off to attend events, earn tokens, and get prizes at the end of the school year.

We hope to see many of you attend all the events you are able throughout the year. You will earn tokens by participating in and/or attending Intramural events as a spectator.

Later, when we offer education and awareness programming, those will have a token value as well. We are looking forward to a great year and hope to see you at as many events as your schedule allows.

August 5, 2024: Staying in Touch

We are now just 2 weeks from PowerUp! Over the next two weeks, we will focus on information that it is important to know as everyone transitions into the Fall 2024 semester. The first portion of our communication today will focus on items that explain our calendar and action items students need to take to be ready for the first day of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The second portion of our communication will focus on things for students to do outside the classroom during the first few weeks of the semester. Week of Welcome, the Program Competition for $5,000, Osage View Golf Course, Driving Range, Movie Theater, and more are there to make sure you have positive ways to spend your time outside of class to blow off steam and meet people from other programs. We are open all week this week to assist with the last-minute items you can take care of to make the transition to campus smooth in two weeks. Have a great week!

We are just 1 week until the start of classes! Here are a few reminders to make driving to campus a positive experience.

Arrive early 鈥� we recommend arriving on campus about 30 minutes prior to class. This will help with traffic flow through Linn and help you find a spot to park. After arriving early, you can walk to class and stop by Founder鈥檚 to grab a quick bite to eat.
If you see full parking lots, please continue on to the next open lot 鈥� spots fill up quickly near the main entrance. However, we have lots all over campus. Simply proceed to the right at the traffic circle on Technology Drive and look for the next open lot. We have lots all the way to the back of campus. Every lot is only about a 5-minute walk to the other side of campus. Help us keep traffic flowing smoothly by NOT circling lots to find a spot in a lot that is full.
Once you have found a spot on-campus, stay parked during the day. Try to avoid driving off campus between classes. This will keep traffic congestion to a minimum and avoid time lost looking for a spot again when you return to campus.

It is important to know the campus speed limit is 15 miles per hour. Please follow this speed limit to keep everyone safe.

It is also important to follow traffic laws while driving through Linn, MO. Please obey speed limits through town and understand we have a convergence of three law enforcement entities close to campus.

Select the course prefix of each class on your course schedule (first three letters, i.e. HVT) from the department list, select the course from the course-section-instructor list.听 Add all courses on your schedule, then click on View Your materials.听 As you鈥檙e reviewing the list, you can select new or used copies of textbooks. (if there is no radio button next to the used price, then there are no used copies available).听 Once you have selected everything you want to purchase, click on continue to checkout.
Enter payment information and complete purchase.听 If you intend to use financial aid to purchase items in the bookstore, aid will not be available until near the start of the Fall 2024 semester (late August 2024).听 Watch your email for notification that financial aid (student account credit balances) will be available to be used in the bookstore.

Sunday, August 18, 2024 鈥� On Campus Move-In Day

If you have an on-campus room assignment, you can move into your cottage on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Ash Woods, Housing Coordinator has sent you information about the time during the day where you may check-in and move your things into your assigned room. If you have a lease with a property in town, please check with your landlord to know when you can move into your rental property. All of our offices will be open on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 9:00 AM 鈥� 3:00 PM. Stop by and take care of any last minute items. Pick up your books, stop by the Cashier, or check out the Library, ARC, or Activity Center. We are excited to have you on campus!

PowerUp, Monday, August 19, 2024

Power Up is required for all first-year students. PowerUp is an event designed to introduce you to the instructors in your program, learn about the expectations in the classroom, hear more about the services and resources available to you as a student at State Tech, and we will have a FREE dinner and concert to wrap up the day. PowerUp takes place on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Campus opens at 8:00 AM and check-in for PowerUp starts at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center.

Students will meet with their instructors and learn about classroom and lab expectations. All campus offices will be open to do any last-minute business.

We conclude the day with a FREE BBQ dinner and a concert to wrap up the day. We are excited to welcome everyone to campus for Fall 2024. Returning students, you are welcome to attend the BBQ and concert as a part of your Power BackUp day!

What does the day for PowerUp look like?

All campus offices are open at 8:00 AM for students and their families who need to conduct any last-minute business to get ready for the start of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

* This is not a required part of PowerUp. We are for your convenience to finish up work with the Cashier, Financial Aid, Bookstore, Registration, IT Help Desk, or if you need to get your Student ID photo taken.

Founder鈥檚 1961 Cafeteria will be open from 10:30 AM 鈥� 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch. The all you-can-eat buffet is $9.50 at the door for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch.

This is the first required event during PowerUp! Starting at 1:00 PM, we will begin checking students in at the Activity Center. The Welcome session will begin at 3:00 PM in the Activity Center. At 3:30 PM, students will be separated into their programs and be escorted to a classroom or lab space to meet their instructors for the program. They will have about an hour-long meeting to discuss expectations in the program and learn about valuable resources for student success.

After the meeting, students will go with their program for a FREE dinner on the OCCC Patio and enjoy live music and receive free items from local businesses.

Do Parents Attend Power Up?

One of the most common questions we have about Power Up is, 鈥渄o parents/families attend or is it just for students?鈥�

That is a great question. PowerUp is an event designed for students to meet their instructors, fellow classmates, and learn about the expectations in the program. In addition, we wrap up the day with an opportunity for the students to enjoy a free meal, concert, and meet local business owners who have giveaways for the students to welcome them to Linn!

During the Power Up Welcome, we will hold our first Intramural Championship event of 2024!. The winner will walk away with an Intramural Champion T-shirt and year-long bragging rights. During the FREE dinner, we are happy to provide free live music! Jordan Heckemeyer will take the stage at 4:30 PM and play through dinner until 7:00 PM! This is our second time having Jordan on campus and she puts on a great show.

New Method to Earn Tokens 鈥� Go to Class!

During PowerUp, you will hear from our President, Dr. Strong. He will talk about the importance of showing up every day and putting in the work in classrooms and labs. It is an essential skill to prepare yourself each day that leads you towards success in your course work. You are rewarded with the knowledge you need to pass classes and the respect of your fellow classmates and instructors because you can be counted on as a reliable person. Employers will also love that trait when you enter the workforce. Now, we are going to reward you in another way in Student Affairs. If you have 100% attendance during a month, we will add 100 tokens to your total amount! Students earn tokens by attending fun activities, events, food, concerts, paintball, intramurals, etc. Now, you can earn them each month by doing your job and going to class 100% of the time. Osage View 鈥� Golf Course Policies

We are looking forward to students getting on the golf course this Fall and taking advantage of the free green fees. However, Osage View is a tremendous asset to the college and we want to make sure all students understand the etiquette and policies that come with being on the golf course. Once you are logged in, Click on
Grab your course schedule (you can find in 听or on the 草莓视频app).
Select the course prefix of each class on your course schedule (first three letters, i.e. HVT) from the department list, select the course from the course-section-instructor list.听 Add all courses on your schedule, then click on View Your materials.听 As you鈥檙e reviewing the list, you can select new or used copies of textbooks. (if there is no radio button next to the used price, then there are no used copies available).听 Once you have selected everything you want to purchase, click on continue to checkout.
Enter payment information and complete purchase.听 If you intend to use financial aid to purchase items in the bookstore, aid will not be available until near the start of the Fall 2024 semester (late August 2024).听 Watch your email for notification that financial aid (student account credit balances) will be available to be used in the bookstore.

Sunday, August, 2024 鈥� On Campus Move-In Day

If you have an on-campus room assignment, you can move into your cottage on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Ash Woods, Housing Coordinator has sent you information about the time during the day where you may check-in and move your things into your assigned room. If you have a lease with a property in town, please check with your landlord to know when you can move into your rental property. All of our offices will be open on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 9:00 AM 鈥� 3:00 PM. Stop by and take care of any last minute items. Pick up your books, stop by the Cashier, or check out the Library, ARC, or Activity Center. We are excited to have you on campus!

PowerUp, Monday, August 19, 2024

Power Up is required for all first-year students. PowerUp is an event designed to introduce you to the instructors in your program, learn about the expectations in the classroom, hear more about the services and resources available to you as a student at State Tech, and we will have a FREE dinner and concert to wrap up the day. PowerUp takes place on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Campus opens at 8:00 AM and check-in for PowerUp starts at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center.

Students will meet with their instructors and learn about classroom and lab expectations. All campus offices will be open to do any last-minute business.

We conclude the day with a FREE BBQ dinner and a concert to wrap up the day. We are excited to welcome everyone to campus for Fall 2024. Returning students, you are welcome to attend the BBQ and concert as a part of your Power BackUp day!

What does the day for PowerUp look like?

All campus offices are open at 8:00 AM for students and their families who need to conduct any last-minute business to get ready for the start of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Founder鈥檚 1961 Cafeteria will be open from 10:30 AM 鈥� 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch. The all you-can-eat buffet is $9.50 at the door for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch.

This is the first required event during PowerUp! Starting at 1:00 PM, we will begin checking students in at the Activity Center. The Welcome session will begin at 3:00 PM in the Activity Center. At 3:30 PM, students will be separated into their programs and be escorted to a classroom or lab space to meet their instructors for the program. They will have about an hour-long meeting to discuss expectations in the program and learn about valuable resources for student success.

After the meeting, students will go with their program for a FREE dinner on the OCCC Patio and enjoy live music and receive free items from local businesses.

Do Parents Attend Power Up?

One of the most common questions we have about Power Up is, 鈥渄o parents/families attend or is it just for students?鈥�

That is a great question. PowerUp is an event designed for students to meet their instructors, fellow classmates, and learn about the expectations in the program. In addition, we wrap up the day with an opportunity for the students to enjoy a free meal, concert, and meet local business owners who have giveaways for the students to welcome them to Linn!

When students attend an event on campus, they check-in using their ID in the 草莓视频app and earn tokens. We keep a running scoreboard all year long and students use them to purchase prizes at the end of the year BBQ.

Last year, we had a student who used their tokens to buy a PS5, Oculus VR Goggles, TV鈥檚, Nintendo Switches, and more. It pays off to attend events, earn tokens, and get prizes at the end of the school year. We hope to see many of you attend all the events you are able throughout the year. You will even earn tokens by participating in and/or attending Intramural events as a spectator.

We think it鈥檚 always a great time to attend fun and free activities outside the classroom.

New Method to Earn Tokens 鈥� Go to Class!

During PowerUp, you will hear from our President, Dr. Strong. He will talk about the importance of showing up every day and putting in the work in classrooms and labs. It is an essential skill to prepare yourself each day that leads you towards success in your course work. You are rewarded with the knowledge you need to pass classes and the respect of your fellow classmates and instructors because you can be counted on as a reliable person. Employers will also love that trait when you enter the workforce. Now, we are going to reward you in another way in Student Affairs. If you have 100% attendance during a month, we will add 100 tokens to your total amount! Students earn tokens by attending fun activities, events, food, concerts, paintball, intramurals, etc. Now, you can earn them each month by doing your job and going to class 100% of the time. July 29, 2024: Staying in Touch

As of today, we are now just three weeks away from PowerUp (incoming students) and Power BACK Up for returning students on Monday, August 19, 2024! We are excited for everyone to get back on campus. When you are here, the energy is high and it makes it easy for our team to come to work every day to assist you in completing your educational and career goals. Please follow along below with important information to make your transition to campus a smooth one this Fall. Have a great week!

Campus Parking

It鈥檚 no secret that traffic and parking can feel congested during the first few weeks of classes. Please get in the habit of arriving early on campus and driving to open parking spots across all of campus. The lots nearest to Hwy 50 fill up the quickest, instead of circling those lots to search for an open spot, continue to the right of the roundabout and look for open spots in other lots. We have open spots all the way to the back of campus. It is also important to know you are only permitted to park in parking stalls with white lines. Yellow lines are visitor parking and green lines are for faculty/staff. One final tip, please do NOT park in the grass.

Driving and Parking on Campus

Driving

We are just 1 week until the start of classes! Here are a few reminders to make driving to campus a positive experience.

Arrive early 鈥� we recommend arriving on campus about 30 minutes prior to class. This will help with traffic flow through Linn and help you find a spot to park. After arriving early, you can walk to class and stop by Founder鈥檚 to grab a quick bite to eat.
If you see full parking lots, please continue on to the next open lot 鈥� spots fill up quickly near the main entrance. However, we have lots all over campus. Simply proceed to the right at the traffic circle on Technology Drive and look for the next open lot. We have lots all the way to the back of campus. Every lot is only about a 5-minute walk to the other side of campus. Help us keep traffic flowing smoothly by NOT circling lots to find a spot in a lot that is full.
Once you have found a spot on-campus, stay parked during the day. Try to avoid driving off campus between classes. This will keep traffic congestion to a minimum and avoid time lost looking for a spot again when you return to campus.

It is important to know the campus speed limit is 15 miles per hour. Please follow this speed limit to keep everyone safe.

It is also important to follow traffic laws while driving through Linn, MO. Please obey speed limits through town and understand we have a convergence of three law enforcement entities close to campus.

Student Affairs has tickets remaining for Lucas Oil Speedway for Saturday, August 3^rd. 听Please stop by the Activity Center front desk if you would like FREE tickets to next Saturday鈥檚 races. Student Affairs has tickets remaining for Lucas Oil Speedway for Saturday, August 3^rd. 听Please stop by the Activity Center front desk if you would like FREE tickets to next Saturday鈥檚 races. If you have suite tickets for June 8^th (rained out), those tickets can be used as general admission tickets for any event this summer.

What is PowerUp?

PowerUp, Monday, August 19, 2024

Power Up is required for all first-year students. PowerUp is an event designed to introduce you to the instructors in your program, learn about the expectations in the classroom, hear more about the services and resources available to you as a student at State Tech, and we will have a FREE dinner and concert to wrap up the day. PowerUp takes place on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Campus opens at 8:00 AM and check-in for PowerUp starts at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center.

Students will meet with their instructors and learn about classroom and lab expectations. All campus offices will be open to do any last-minute business.

We conclude the day with a FREE BBQ dinner and a concert to wrap up the day. We are excited to welcome everyone to campus for Fall 2024. Returning students, you are welcome to attend the BBQ and concert as a part of your Power BackUp day!

What does the day for PowerUp look like?

All campus offices are open at 8:00 AM for students and their families who need to conduct any last-minute business to get ready for the start of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Founder鈥檚 1961 Cafeteria will be open from 10:30 AM 鈥� 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch. The all you-can-eat buffet is $9.50 at the door for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch.

This is the first required event during PowerUp! Starting at 1:00 PM, we will begin checking students in at the Activity Center. The Welcome session will begin at 3:00 PM in the Activity Center. At 3:30 PM, students will be separated into their programs and be escorted to a classroom or lab space to meet their instructors for the program. They will have about an hour-long meeting to discuss expectations in the program and learn about valuable resources for student success.

After the meeting, students will go with their program for a FREE dinner on the OCCC Patio and enjoy live music and receive free items from local businesses.

Do Parents Attend Power Up?

One of the most common questions we have about Power Up is, 鈥渄o parents/families attend or is it just for students?鈥�

That is a great question. PowerUp is an event designed for students to meet their instructors, fellow classmates, and learn about the expectations in the program. In addition, we wrap up the day with an opportunity for the students to enjoy a free meal, concert, and meet local business owners who have giveaways for the students to welcome them to Linn!

Dinner Entertainment 鈥� LIVE Music

During the FREE dinner, we are happy to provide free live music! Jordan Heckemeyer will take the stage at 4:30 PM and play through dinner until 7:00 PM! This is our second time having Jordan on campus and she puts on a great show.

Week of Welcome Events Schedule

We are ready to have all our students back on campus for the Fall 2024 semester. One of the things that makes 草莓视频a great place to attend, is that we work hard and we like to play hard. Attend Events, Earn Tokens, Get Prizes

When students attend an event on campus, they check-in using their ID in the 草莓视频app and earn tokens. We keep a running scoreboard all year long and students use them to purchase prizes at the end of the year BBQ.

Last year, we had a student who used their tokens to buy a PS5, Oculus VR Goggles, TV鈥檚, Nintendo Switches, and more. It pays off to attend events, earn tokens, and get prizes at the end of the school year. We hope to see many of you attend all the events you are able throughout the year. You will even earn tokens by participating in and/or attending Intramural events as a spectator.

Why Attend Week of Welcome Events?

We think it鈥檚 always a great time to attend fun and free activities outside the classroom.

What is PowerUp?

PowerUp, Monday, August 19, 2024

Power Up is required for all first-year students. PowerUp is an event designed to introduce you to the instructors in your program, learn about the expectations in the classroom, hear more about the services and resources available to you as a student at State Tech, and we will have a FREE dinner and concert to wrap up the day. PowerUp takes place on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Campus opens at 8:00 AM and check-in for PowerUp starts at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center.

Students will meet with their instructors and learn about classroom and lab expectations. All campus offices will be open to do any last-minute business.

We conclude the day with a FREE BBQ dinner and a concert to wrap up the day. We are excited to welcome everyone to campus for Fall 2024. Returning students, you are welcome to attend the BBQ and concert as a part of your Power BackUp day!

What does the day for PowerUp look like?

All campus offices are open at 8:00 AM for students and their families who need to conduct any last-minute business to get ready for the start of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Founder鈥檚 1961 Cafeteria will be open from 10:30 AM 鈥� 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch. The all you-can-eat buffet is $9.50 at the door for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch.

This is the first required event during PowerUp! Starting at 1:00 PM, we will begin checking students in at the Activity Center. The Welcome session will begin at 3:00 PM in the Activity Center. At 3:30 PM, students will be separated into their programs and be escorted to a classroom or lab space to meet their instructors for the program. They will have about an hour-long meeting to discuss expectations in the program and learn about valuable resources for student success.

After the meeting, students will go with their program for a FREE dinner on the OCCC Patio and enjoy live music and receive free items from local businesses.

Do Parents Attend Power Up?

One of the most common questions we have about Power Up is, 鈥渄o parents/families attend or is it just for students?鈥�

That is a great question. PowerUp is an event designed for students to meet their instructors, fellow classmates, and learn about the expectations in the program. In addition, we wrap up the day with an opportunity for the students to enjoy a free meal, concert, and meet local business owners who have giveaways for the students to welcome them to Linn!

Second-Annual Rock, Paper, Scissors Intramural Championship

During the Power Up Welcome, we will hold our first Intramural Championship event of 2024!. The winner will walk away with an Intramural Champion T-shirt and year-long bragging rights. We are excited to start the year with a championship event. Be on the lookout for more information about this and other Intramural events.

Dinner Entertainment 鈥� LIVE Music

During the FREE dinner, we are happy to provide free live music! Jordan Heckemeyer will take the stage at 4:30 PM and play through dinner until 7:00 PM! This is our second time having Jordan on campus and she puts on a great show.

Week of Welcome Events Schedule

We are ready to have all our students back on campus for the Fall 2024 semester. One of the things that makes 草莓视频a great place to attend, is that we work hard and we like to play hard. Please see the schedule of events for Week of Welcome below. We hope to see you at all of these events. They are a great way to have fun in between and after classes, meet new people, earn tokens for a chance to purchase great prizes at the end of the year BBQ, and to earn $5,000 for your program! Be on the lookout for more information about tokens and the program competition worth $5,000!

Attend Events, Earn Tokens, Get Prizes

When students attend an event on campus, they check-in using their ID in the 草莓视频app and earn tokens. We keep a running scoreboard all year long and students use them to purchase prizes at the end of the year BBQ.

Last year, we had a student who used their tokens to buy a PS5, Oculus VR Goggles, TV鈥檚, Nintendo Switches, and more. It pays off to attend events, earn tokens, and get prizes at the end of the school year. We hope to see many of you attend all the events you are able throughout the year. You will even earn tokens by participating in and/or attending Intramural events as a spectator.

Why Attend Week of Welcome Events?

We think it鈥檚 always a great time to attend fun and free activities outside the classroom.

But if you need another reason to attend Week of Welcome activities, we have one for you.

The program that has the highest attendance percentage during Week of Welcome Activities will win a $5,000 award from Student Government Association.

Will Welding win again? Will Precision Machining or Automotive Collision reclaim their past titles? Will another program steal the title and win the $5,000?

Library Learning Commons Update

Learning Commons Follow-Up!听The library and ARC are still making progress toward our furniture goals but are currently walkable and open for students and tours.

Powered Tables and Booths!听The campus community is welcome to come in and use the space as needed. Table seats have a convenient power strip in the middle, booths are powered on the side panels. We highly recommend taking in the view from the high tops in the window.

What to Expect!听We will have the main student computers installed and connected after an electrician powered the desk hub. In the meantime, computers are still accessible:

July 8, 2024: Staying in Touch

Welcome back! We hope everyone had an amazing Independence Day Holiday Weekend! We are now just 6 weeks until the first day of classes for the Fall semester. Classes begin Tuesday, August 20^th. Remember, we will host PowerUp and Power BACK Up (for returning students) on Monday, August 19^th. We will continue to provide relevant information for students and parents to be ready for Fall 2042 at State Tech. Please be on the lookout for additional information in the next couple of weeks.

Class Attendance & Assignments

After 4 days away from classes, it is essential to get back into your routine of attending classes and turning in all assignments. If you need assistance, our ARC and Library are open this week to provide additional assistance.

Swimming Pool

7 days a week 鈥� 11:00 AM 鈥� Dark 鈥� It鈥檚 going to be hot this week! After a long day in your labs and classes, stop by Osage View and cool off in the pool.

Lake State Tech

It鈥檚 always a great day to explore Lake State Tech. Located behind the Utility Technology Center, the lake is stocked for fishing, has a nice beach where you can relax and enjoy the sun, and now we have a kayak vending machine. Get out on the water by yourself or with friends. Everything you need is in the vending machine locker. Scan the QR code to start your rental. Another great way to relax after class is right on campus.

If you don鈥檛 want to get out on the water in a kayak, you can spend some time relaxing on the beach from dawn to dusk. The Lake is a good place to wind down and relax with friends. Rumor has it the fish are biting too. Grab a pole and your fishing license and see what you catch

FERPA Access in听myTech

Did you know once you enter State Tech, the right to access your education and financial records at 草莓视频belong to you?听 You can now consent to provide access to your student and financial record to whomever you would like when you complete the consent form.听 Below are the step-by-step instructions to complete the consent form for your FERPA permission.听 After completing your form, please allow up to 48 hours before the rights are granted and they receive the login to myTech.

Select 鈥渕yForms鈥� from the pages on the left side of your screen:

It鈥檚 been a quick week of classes! We hope everyone will take some time to enjoy time with friends and family as we celebrate Independence Day! The college is now closed for the next 4 days. Classes resume and Student Affairs offices will be open on Monday, July 8^th! If you have fallen behind with any assignments in your classes, the extended weekend is a great time to get caught up and come back on track for success for the last few weeks of the summer semester.

Lake State Tech

It鈥檚 always a great day to explore Lake State Tech. Located behind the Utility Technology Center, the lake is stocked for fishing, has a nice beach where you can relax and enjoy the sun, and now we have a kayak vending machine. Get out on the water by yourself or with friends. Everything you need is in the vending machine locker. Scan the QR code to start your rental. Another great way to relax after class is right on campus.

If you don鈥檛 want to get out on the water in a kayak, you can spend some time relaxing on the beach from dawn to dusk. The Lake is a good place to wind down and relax with friends. Rumor has it the fish are biting too. Grab a pole and your fishing license and see what you catch.

Do Parents Attend Power Up?

Summer Financial Aid Credit Balance Refunds

Please make sure you have all steps completed for Financial Aid. If you are due to receive a credit balance refund, they will be ready (depending on your program) June 28, 2024 (today). Please review your student account to see if you have financial aid that is in excess of your charges. They can be picked up at the Cashier station of Tech Central in the ITC Rotunda.

If you need to check your financial aid status, please stop by the Financial Aid Office in the ITC between 8:00 AM 鈥� 5:00 PM (8:00 鈥� Noon on Friday).

Sports Shooting Team 鈥� Meet the Coach

Did you know 草莓视频is starting a Sports Shooting program? We have just hired our first coach and want to introduce you to him. Tyler Helton graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in secondary science education, and a psychology minor. He obtained a Class 1 Shotgun Coach Certification through the NRA and certificates through the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation for Basic Shotgun Shooting Sports Coach Training and Action Shooting Coach Training. He was an educator at St. Clair High School for 2 years taking on numerous extracurricular roles including coaching the bowling team and FFA trap shoot team. He then moved to Fulton, Missouri to be a science educator at Fulton High School for 7 years and coach the tennis team for 2 of those years. To further pursue his passion as an outdoorsman, he took on the responsibility to lead and help develop the new Shooting Sports Program at 草莓视频. His personal goal for the first year is to assemble a squad that can bring home a trophy from Nationals in the discipline of Trap Shooting.

Tyler states, 鈥淲hen I was young, my father introduced me to hunting and fishing. We would often fish the subdivision lake or go to the local trap and skeet club to shoot clay birds and practice for our next hunting adventure. My father played a large part of what made me the outdoorsman he is today which will help me bring success to the new Shooting Sports Program鈥�.

If you have an interest in learning the steps to be involved with our Sports Shooting program, . Coach Helton will get back to you as soon as possible and open a conversation about Sports Shooting at State Tech!

Move-In Day

Move-In is the Sunday before classes begin for the Fall semester. This year, that is Sunday, August 18, 2024. We ask all students living on campus to watch their personal emails for further instructions.

Housing staff will be on hand to greet you and help provide a smooth arrival to campus. If you have any questions about the move-in process, please reach out to Ash Woods in Housing at housing@statetechmo.edu or at (573) 897-5165.

In the evening we will have a pizza dinner, dodgeball tournament, and mandatory cottage meetings.

Off campus Housing

If you are living off campus, your Move-In date will be determined by the start of your lease. If your lease begins on August 1, 2024, you may move in on that date or any time before classes begin on August 20, 2024. If you move into your apartment early in August, please do not hesitate to stop by the Activity Center or the Golf Course to spend some time having fun before classes begin.

Happy Friday! We have made it to the end of another week in the Summer 2024 session. Many of our students enrolled in summer will be heading back out to internships for the next few weeks. We hope you have great experiences, but we will be excited to welcome you back for PowerUp (first year students) & Power BackUp (second year students) on Monday, August 19, 2024. PowerUp is an event designed to introduce you to the instructors in your program, learn about the expectations in the classroom, hear more about the services and resources available to you as a student at State Tech, and we will have a FREE dinner and concert to wrap up the day. PowerUp takes place on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Please be on the lookout for information specific to the agenda in the coming weeks. Campus opens at 8:00 AM and check-in for PowerUp starts at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center.

What does the day for PowerUp look like?

All campus offices are open at 8:00 AM for students and their families who need to conduct any last-minute business to get ready for the start of classes on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Founder鈥檚 1961 Cafeteria will be open from 10:30 AM 鈥� 1:00 PM for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch. The all you-can-eat buffet is $9.50 at the door for anyone who would like to enjoy lunch.

This is the first required event during PowerUp! Starting at 2:00 PM, we will begin checking students in at the Activity Center. The Welcome session will begin at 3:00 PM in the Activity Center. At 3:30 PM, students will be separated into their programs and be escorted to a classroom or lab space to meet their instructors for the program. During the Power Up Welcome, we will hold our first Intramural Championship event of 2024!. The winner will walk away with an Intramural Champion T-shirt and year-long bragging rights. Dinner Entertainment 鈥� LIVE Music

During the FREE dinner, we are happy to provide free live music! Jordan Heckemeyer will take the stage at 4:30 PM and play through dinner until 7:00 PM! This is our second time having Jordan on campus and she puts on a great show.

Sports Shooting Team 鈥� Meet the Coach

Did you know 草莓视频is starting a Sports Shooting program? We have just hired our first coach and want to introduce you to him. Tyler Helton graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in secondary science education, and a psychology minor. He obtained a Class 1 Shotgun Coach Certification through the NRA and certificates through the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation for Basic Shotgun Shooting Sports Coach Training and Action Shooting Coach Training. He was an educator at St. Clair High School for 2 years taking on numerous extracurricular roles including coaching the bowling team and FFA trap shoot team. He then moved to Fulton, Missouri to be a science educator at Fulton High School for 7 years and coach the tennis team for 2 of those years. To further pursue his passion as an outdoorsman, he took on the responsibility to lead and help develop the new Shooting Sports Program at 草莓视频. His personal goal for the first year is to assemble a squad that can bring home a trophy from Nationals in the discipline of Trap Shooting.

Tyler states, 鈥淲hen I was young, my father introduced me to hunting and fishing. We would often fish the subdivision lake or go to the local trap and skeet club to shoot clay birds and practice for our next hunting adventure. My father played a large part of what made me the outdoorsman he is today which will help me bring success to the new Shooting Sports Program鈥�.

If you have an interest in learning the steps to be involved with our Sports Shooting program, . Coach Helton will get back to you as soon as possible and open a conversation about Sports Shooting at State Tech!

Move-In Day

Move-In is the Sunday before classes begin for the Fall semester. This year, that is Sunday, August 18, 2024. We ask all students living on campus to watch their personal emails for further instructions.

If you are living off campus, your Move-In date will be determined by the start of your lease. Showing Up Every day 鈥� Putting in the Work 鈥� Asking for Help

I recently saw a video where Tom Brady shared some words of wisdom. He was talking specifically about football, but I think it relates to the work you do on a daily basis in your classroom and lab spaces. I believe the majority of our students have this mentality. They show up daily, put in the work, and ask for help when they need it. My favorite part of the speech is below鈥�

“The truth is you don’t have to be special.听You just have to be what most people aren’t.听Consistent, determined, and willing to work for it.听No shortcuts,”

What Mr. Brady doesn鈥檛 say is that showing up consistently, being willing to work hard for it, and not taking shortcuts to get to your goal is exactly what makes our students special. 7 days a week 鈥� 11:00 AM 鈥� Dark 鈥� It鈥檚 going to be hot this week! After a long day in your labs and classes, stop by Osage View and cool off in the pool.

Lake State Tech

It鈥檚 always a great day to explore Lake State Tech. Located behind the Utility Technology Center, the lake is stocked for fishing, has a nice beach where you can relax and enjoy the sun, and now we have a kayak vending machine. Get out on the water by yourself or with friends. Everything you need is in the vending machine locker. Scan the QR code to start your rental. Another great way to relax after class is right on campus.

If you don鈥檛 want to get out on the water in a kayak, you can spend some time relaxing on the beach from dawn to dusk. Check out students from our EET/Biomed programs enjoying the beach with a BBQ. The Lake is a good place to wind down and relax with friends. Rumor has it the fish are biting too. Grab a pole and your fishing license and see what you catch.

Visit the ARC (Academic Resource Center 鈥� Above the Library)

The ARC team is ready if you have questions about your general education classes. If you have questions about your technical classes, please let us know and we can work with your department to see if we can hire a technical tutor to assist you. They have hours from 8:00 AM 鈥� 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM 鈥� 5:00 PM Friday. FREE RACING TICKETS 鈥� Pick Up at the Activity Center Front Desk

Do you like stock car racing? 草莓视频has a suite at Lucas Oil Speedway for the Summer. Students can sign-up in the Activity Center to receive tickets for Saturday, June 15^th and Saturday, June 22^nd.听The first 25 students to sign up for each date will receive FREE tickets to the suite with soda/water and snacks provided. Head to the Activity Center this weekend to get in a great workout, play a few games of pool, get some shots up in the gym, or just relax and play a few video games. We are open all weekend long until 10:00 PM.

Nine Weeks to PowerUp

We are just 9 short weeks away from PowerUp on Monday, August 19, 2024.听 Please be on the lookout for information specific to the agenda in the coming weeks.

Students will meet with their instructors and learn about classroom and lab expectations. All campus offices will be open to do any last-minute business.

We will also have a FREE BBQ dinner and concert to wrap up the day. We are excited to welcome everyone to campus for Fall 2024.

Fall Student Account Charges

Please be on the lookout for Fall Student Account charges to appear on the second week of July. We will keep you posted as we learn more information about when you will be able to see your tuition and fee charges on the student account.

Move-In Day

Move-In is the Sunday before classes begin for the Fall semester. This year, that is Sunday, August 18, 2024. We ask all students living on campus to watch their personal emails for further instructions.

Housing staff will be on hand to greet you and help provide a smooth arrival to campus. If you have any questions about the move-in process, please reach out to Ash Woods in Housing at housing@statetechmo.edu or at (573) 897-5165.

In the evening we will provide a pizza dinner, fun activity, and mandatory cottage meetings to go over rules and expectations.

It鈥檚 always a great day to explore Lake State Tech. Located behind the Utility Technology Center, the lake is stocked for fishing, has a nice beach where you can relax and enjoy the sun, and now we have a kayak vending machine. Get out on the water by yourself or with friends. Everything you need is in the vending machine locker. Scan the QR code to start your rental. Another great way to relax after class is right on campus.

If you don鈥檛 want to get out on the water in a kayak, you can spend some time relaxing on the beach from dawn to dusk. Check out students from our EET/Biomed programs enjoying the beach with a BBQ. The Lake is a good place to wind down and relax with friends. Rumor has it the fish are biting too. Grab a pole and your fishing license and see what you catch.

Do you like stock car racing? 草莓视频has a suite at Lucas Oil Speedway for the Summer. Please see information below about how to log into the Financial Aid portal and determine if you have all documentation turned in or if you have a financial aid offer that is pending and ready for you to accept/decline aid. Financial Aid Portal

Financial Aid Offers are emailed to your student and personal email. 听听The email will have a link to the student financial aid portal.听听 You will want to click on the link and the portal will look like the below image:

Once you are in the portal, click on Menu 鈥� you will see the following options:

Missing Items & Messages 鈥� please check here first to see if there are any documents needed to complete your file and receive a Financial Aid Offer. If you have questions about what is being requested, please contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@statetechmo.edu.

Financial Aid Offer – You will want to review the offer. Review the total amounts being offered and see how they are divided between the semesters that you will be enrolled in your program. You can use the Cost Estimate Worksheet to see if your pending aid will cover your costs. In addition, check to make sure you have no missing documents.

Accept/Decline Student Loans 鈥� Please review your loans offered and follow the steps to accept or decline the loans.听 If you are going to decline, please do that as soon as possible. If you ever change your mind, you can do that at a later date.

At any time, you can also log into and click on financial aid and it will direct you to the financial aid portal which then you can view the menu items.

Tuition Costs 2024-2025

While you are working on the Cost Estimate Worksheet you will need tuition estimates to assist. Please use the costs below to assist with your estimates. Please remember, if you are eligible to receive the A+ Scholarship, it will cover all standard tuition & fees.

During the summer, we hope you take advantage of the Osage View property. Students can play golf for free (if you are getting a cart, it costs $5 per person per 9 holes), swim for free, and receive discounts on buckets at the driving range, and the simulator bays. Bring a group of friends or family and enjoy these great amenities.

We believe that your choice to attend 草莓视频was an excellent decision!听 Whether you are entering your first semester with 草莓视频or preparing to complete your degree program, we have some advice that will serve you well as the Summer term begins.

We are excited to collaborate with you in your educational goals.听 Whether you are hoping to earn a degree in a career or technical field or working on completing the first two years of your Bachelor鈥檚 degree, our faculty and staff are committed to your success.听 We hope that you take the time to read some of the following suggestions to make this Summer term a successful start to the 2024-2025 instructional year.

Tips & Tricks for Success

Attend class 鈥� as you heard from Dr. Strong in previous speeches, being present is a high percentage of being successful at State Tech. Make sure you are attending all classes and turning in all assignments.
Turn in all assignments 鈥� it is not just enough to show up on a daily basis. You need to follow instructions and turn in all assigned work. If you are struggling, let your instructors know. They are here to help.
Get to know your instructors 鈥� take the time to let them know who you are before or after class, they are the best source of knowledge for the class and it鈥檚 a great idea to begin networking with them. They know many people within their field of expertise, in industry in Missouri and beyond.
Get to know your fellow students 鈥� take the time to meet new people before or after class 鈥� be social!听 You may find a study partner and new friends. Having lunch in the Founder鈥檚 Caf茅, playing pool in the Activity Center, hitting some golf balls at the Driving Range, or going to an event hosted by Student Activities are great ways to meet people outside the classroom.
Ask questions 鈥� seek out services when you need the assistance 鈥� we have a fantastic group of staff and services that can provide you with answers to your most difficult questions. 草莓视频staff want to help, so do not hesitate to approach us and ask a question.
Get involved! 鈥� 草莓视频 has many different activities to keep students busy when they are outside the classroom.听 We have clubs, organizations, small events like movie nights, game nights, open mic nights to dances, concerts, Paintball, GloZone dance parties, and Capture the Flag.听 Make sure to follow State Tech on social media channels! Also, read the Staying in Touch each week for updates to the activities calendar. They do a great job of keeping our students busy with activities all week long.

Join us for a FREE lunch on Wednesday, June 5^th as we welcome you to campus for the Summer semester! We will have hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks for you to eat. We will also have some tailgate games out for your enjoyment. We will see you on June 5^th!

FREE RACING TICKETS 鈥� SIGN UP in Activity Center

Do you like stock car racing? 草莓视频has a suite at Lucas Oil Speedway for the Summer. Students can sign-up in the Activity Center to receive tickets for Saturday, June 8^th and Saturday, June 22^nd. The first 25 students to sign up for each date will receive FREE tickets to the suite with soda/water and snacks provided. Stop by the front desk at the and sign up for the FREE tickets. The address is 18842 Speedway Dr, Wheatland, MO 65779.

Activity Center 鈥� Summer Hours

During the Summer, our basketball courts are being replaced with a completion date before the Fall semester. While they are closed, it is important to know the Activity Center game room, fitness equipment and weight room are open for the Summer until 10:00 PM each night.

Summer Dining Service Information (On & Off Campus)

Founder鈥檚 will be open for Monday through Thursday for breakfast and lunch (6:30 AM 鈥� 2:00 PM)听 starting Monday 6/3/24 鈥� Friday 8/9/24 (closed 7/4/24 and 7/5/24 for holiday)

Campus Dining Services will conclude for the Summer August 10^th. They will reopen for the Fall on August 19^th.

Meal plans offered for the summer will include the 40 ($292.50) meal block plan-includes $30 flex points and the 80 ($585.00) meal block plan 鈥� includes $55 flex points.听Flex points can be used to purchase items from Starbucks and from the cooler at the front of Founder鈥檚 (drinks and snacks). Osage View Summer Hours of Operation

During the summer, we hope you take advantage of the Osage View property. Students can play golf for free (if you are getting a cart, it costs $5 per person per 9 holes), swim for free, and receive discounts on buckets at the driving range, and the simulator bays. Bring a group of friends or family and enjoy these great amenities.

Osage View is a state-of-the-art entertainment facility operated by State Tech, that is located just 3 miles west of campus.听 It is open to students and the public 7 days a week.听 Osage View has something for everyone to enjoy including a 9-hole golf course, TopTracer driving range, bowling lanes, simulator bays, movie theater, swimming pool and full-service restaurant.听 Click here for more information and hours of operation.

May 31, 2024: Staying in Touch

Welcome to the last day of May! We hope everyone had a great week in your classroom and lab spaces. Next week, the majority of our summer students will be on campus for the first time. Heavy Equipment Operations, Practical Nursing Technology, and Dental Assisting Technology will all start classes on Monday, June 3, 2024. We will have several events next week that you can all enjoy outside the classroom to keep you engaged. Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday.
