Imagine yourself working in medical imaging. A lot of healthcare treatments begin with uncovering what’s going on under the surface, and you can play an essential role with our Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT) program.Â
By working on campus and at various clinical education sites in Jefferson City, Columbia, Hannibal, and Washington, you’ll receive a hands-on education that will equip you with the technical and patient care skills necessary to step directly into roles at hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers.Â
The program will show you how to operate imaging equipment, prepare patients for procedures, use proper radiation protection, and maintain patient confidentiality. Graduates who meet all requirements set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) may take the ARRT certification and registration exam to earn their credentials in radiography.
The list below includes general requirements for the performance of radiologic technologist duties. Students in the MRT program should expect to perform the same job duties as registered radiologic technologists. This is not an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
We believe time-on-task has to be part of your education. That means time spent learning from experienced instructors in real-world environments and real-world situations. That’s why the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵcampus is home to more than 50 labs, an automotive bay, aviation hangar, and 40+ acres of land dedicated to our heavy equipment operations program.
