On-Campus Housing Information

How Do I Apply for On-Campus Housing?

Applicants must submit the housing agreement, roommate matching form, and a $350 security deposit to reserve a spot on the housing waitlist. /campus-services/housing/housing-application-process/Ìý (please complete all forms)

How Do I Request a Roommate?

Our required roommate matching form is available under the “Housing Application Process†tab of the Housing webpage.

When will I get a room assignment?

Once we receive an application and deposit, you are placed on a waitlist for the semester you would like to move-in to housing. Then, the housing department will begin to make room assignments in February for the Summer and Fall semesters.

Do I Get My Deposit Back if I Don’t Get a Room Assignment?

Yes. If you do not receive a room assignment, you may ask the Residence Life-Student Services Coordinator to initiate a refund of your deposit. Some applicants choose to remain on the waitlist to see if a spot opens up for the semester you would like to move in.

How Do I Get a Refund for My Deposit?

Please make a request to the Housing Coordinator at housing@statetechmo.edu. The Housing Coordinator must provide written documentation to the Cashier’s Office for a deposit request.

You may cancel your room assignment until March 1 for the Summer Semester, May 1 for the Fall Semester, and November 1 for the Spring Semester.Ìý After these dates, cancelling your room assignment will result in a forfeiture of the deposit.

How Do I Pay For Housing?

Financial aid can cover the housing and meal plan AFTER tuition, standard fees, program fees are covered.

The financial aid office encourages students to review the financial aid award as soon as it is available. This will be sent to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵstudent email account (first.last@iam.statetechmo.edu).

Pell and A+ will ONLY cover tuition and standard fees. Any loan funding or outside scholarships will be applied to the program fees first, and then remaining charges (ex. housing, meal plan) after.

***The only time that students are not offered a loan is if they are non-degree seeking, in 6 cr. hours or less, OR they have reached their aggregate loan limit (not common).

Ìý

Student Loans can be applied to housing costs after tuition and fees have been covered. Please visit the Financial Aid page to learn more about student loan eligibility.
