ݮƵ offers both dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities to high school students. State Tech dual credit courses are taught in the high school or career center, by college-approved high school instructors, for which students receive both college and high school credit. State Tech dual enrollment courses are taught in the high school, on-campus, online, or via interactive television courses (ITV) by ݮƵfull-time or adjunct instructors, for which students receive college credit and may also receive high school credit.

ݮƵadheres to Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education requirements for participation in the dual credit/dual enrollment program. Generally, students in grades 9-12 must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.50-2.99 on a 4.0 scale may be considered. Freshmen must also have a score at or above the ninetieth percentile on the ACT or SAT. All dual credit/dual enrollment students must also meet or exceed the course’s minimum placement test scores and/or other prerequisites for the courses they wish to take and have the approval of a school official and a parent or legal guardian.
The following procedure must be followed to apply, be admitted, and enroll in ݮƵdual credit/dual enrollment courses.
Dual credit/dual enrollment admission decisions are based on the State Tech’s current admission policy and are in accordance with State Tech’s equal opportunity/affirmative action policies.

Information about required textbook(s) and course materials can be obtained from the Bookstore. Note that the charges for all required digital course materials are automatically added at the time the student is registered for his/her course(s). If a non-digital course material is required, students can contact the bookstore at 573-897-5333 or bookstore@statetechmo.edu for additional information.
Full payment of tuition is due at the time of registration. Students who wish to register for a subsequent semester(s), must have all of their financial obligations to the college paid in full before registering for a subsequent semester(s). After a dual credit/dual enrollment application is submitted, an email is sent to the applicant to the email provided on the application. The email will provide the applicant’s student ID number, username, and temporary password. Students will need this information to access their ݮƵstudent email account and their courses in State Tech’s Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas.
It is extremely important that dual credit/dual enrollment students check their ݮƵstudent email daily after they submit their application as email is State Tech’s official method of communication to students.

Every school district has different policies in place concerning dual credit/dual enrollment. Students should consult with their counselor or principal before dropping any ݮƵcourses to ensure they will remain on track to graduate.
Students should remember they are enrolled at ݮƵthrough the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Program and are considered college students. As such, dual credit/dual enrollment students are expected to take responsibility for their education. These responsibilities include payment of fees, meeting course and ݮƵdeadlines. Upon the completion of a dual enrollment or dual credit course(s), the instructor of the course will assign an official final grade. Grades are assigned based on a using a 0.0 — 4.0 GPA scale F= 0.0- A=4.0). The official/final grade a student earned in a dual credit or dual enrollment course is part of the student’s permanent ݮƵcollege record and cannot be deleted or dropped. After all the official/final course grades have been posted to the student’s transcript, they will be available on .
College credit earned at ݮƵthrough the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Program may be transferable to other post-secondary institutions according to the post-secondary institution’s transfer policy. This is to say, not all ݮƵdual credit/dual enrollment courses are transferable. Students are encouraged to contact the Director of Admissions or Registrar at the college or university of their choice for questions regarding acceptance and transferability of ݮƵdual credit/dual enrollment courses.
To request a ݮƵtranscript to send to another post-secondary institution, students must complete a Transcript Request Form and submit to the Registrar. Transcripts will not be issued until the student’s financial obligations to ݮƵare paid in full.
According to FERPA (Family Educational Rights Privacy Act), high schools accepting college credit for high school credit have a legitimate educational interest in obtaining certain information about students that parents/legal guardians may not. Therefore, post-secondary institutions including ݮƵcan share information with the high school based on legitimate educational interest but it may not do so with the parents/legal guardians of the high school students enrolled as a dual credit/dual enrolled student.
In other words, because the parent has privacy rights at the high school, the parent can still approach high school teachers and counselors about their student’s progress in dual credit/dual enrollment course(s). However, ݮƵfaculty and staff who are approached by the parents/legal guardian of their high school student should refer the parents back to the high school for any and all information.

ݮƵdual credit/dual enrollment students may apply for admission to ݮƵas degree-seeking students. ݮƵdual credit/dual enrollment course work that is satisfactorily completed may be applied toward a degree program. ݮƵstudent ID cards can be acquired at the Activity Center. A driver’s license, state ID, passport, or other government-issued photo identification is required to obtain a ݮƵstudent ID card. These cards are valid for the duration of the course(s) in which the students are enrolled and will allow the students access to student services (not including the Activity Center) and academic support similar to that afforded to students on the college campus, including, but not limited to advisors, library services, and other resources requisite for college-level academic performance, e.g. State Tech Library and Academic Resource Center.
Free tutoring is offered at State Tech’s Academic Resource Center (ARC) for enrolled ݮƵstudents. This includes students currently in the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Program. ARC staff members and peer tutors offer both individual and group tutoring for all general education classes.
